Software Freedom Day 2008 Philippine celebration committee is providing sponsorship packages for organizations and businesses that are willing to support the event.
Software Freedom Day (www.softwarefreedomday.org) is a worldwide event of Free and open source advocates, experts and enthusiasts. SFD aims to propagate FOSS ideals to grassroots and students. The Philippine Celebration will be on 20th September 2008
Compared to previous events, we are expecting at least a thousand students eager to know more about FOSS. FOSS experts and developers will lead five (5) breakout sessions on the afternoon.
SFD 2008 will be a non-technical introduction to FOSS. Students will have choices to attend FOSS for daily use, FOSS for developers, FOSS for managing content, Ubuntu GNU/Linux Installation Basics, or Equivalent FOSS applications. A burnfest will also be set-up throughout the day.
To be able to keep the SFD 2008 organized, fun and free we need your support. SFD 2008 will primarily targets students, volunteers, advocates, and experts.
The event website will be found at www.cp-union.org/sfd2008.
